On October 16, 2021, Hesai Technology, a global leader in LiDAR sensors, signed a strategic partnership agreement with Human Horizons, an industry-leading intelligent driving technology company.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on Human Horizons’ HiPhi Pilot ADAS system for the company’s next-generation production vehicles. Hesai’s LiDARs will be installed on Human Horizons’ second flagship model, Digital GT-HiPhi Z. The two parties will also work together on various intelligent transportation solutions.

Human Horizons is a luxury electric vehicle company that develops high-tech vehicles for the premium market. Its HiPhi X flagship model, an “evolving supercar SUV”, has been mass produced and delivered to customers across China. Formally announced on November 6, 2021, the new Digital GT-HiPhi Z will be Human Horizons’ second flagship model. It will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2022 and is expected to begin mass production and delivery next year.

This past August, Hesai released its automotive-grade, long-range, hybrid solid-state LiDAR for ADAS, AT128. Embedded with Hesai's proprietary ASICs, AT128 integrates 128 channels onto a single circuit board and features solid-state electronic scanning in the vertical direction. The sensor reaches 200-meter range at 10% reflectivity and generates over 1.5 million data points per second (single return). Hesai has entered into multiple agreements with OEMs for AT128. The sensor will be mass-produced in-house at Hesai’s new manufacturing facility (expected to commence operation in 2022), and will achieve automotive grade reliability, functional safety, and network security.
