While many lidar companies outsource their testing to third-party testing organizations, this is often very expensive and inefficient. To minimize design flaws, in-house testing facilities are the best solution, providing affordable, controllable, accurate, and efficient testing. Therefore, Hesai developed the Bayes Reliability Testing Centeras our solution to mitigate design flaws and ensure our customers receive flawless lidars.

Bayes Reliability Testing Center is Hesai's in-house comprehensive and systematic product testing and verification center. The testing center spans 2,500 square meters and holds over 200 automotive-grade testing devices for environmental reliability, electrical reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, NVH, and more.

At Bayes, Hesai pushes its lidar models to the limit, conducting tests exceeding conventional limitations. Additionally, Hesai performs comprehensive environment simulations and durability validations including 24-hour triaxial vibration tests, IPX8 & IPX9K waterproof tests, mechanical and thermal shocks, EMC tests, and salt spray corrosion tests. The Lidar Industry's First 200-Meter Testing Track

Testing in complex weather is vital for evaluating lidar functionality. However, managing factors like rain or fog intensity and waiting for specific weather conditions is challenging and time-consuming. Hesai addressed these complications by developing the world's first 200-meter testing track designed for the lidar industry, which enables flexible, controllable, and customizable testing scenarios.

The testing track accurately reflects real-world scenarios featuring dozens of traffic elements, including road markings, traffic lights, high-reflectivity road signs, children, and dogs. Additionally, the testing track models environmental conditions such as light, moderate, and heavy rain and fog. Through these various scenarios, engineers can collect extensive data, enabling accurate and high-quality lidar products. For instance, Hesai's AT series passes these environmental tests with ease. Unlike other sensors and lidars, the AT series' high-resolution lidar can provide ample point-cloud data, ensuring safe and reliable intelligent driving.
